Students irked about the perceived delays in the posting of fall term grades to the Student Information System may have cause to complain again.

The Registrar’s Office mistakenly sent copies of students’ spring term enrollments home to parents instead of fall semester grade reports, University Registrar Jill Carlton wrote in an e-mail today.

When the Registrar’s Office tried to print the reports, employees mistakenly selected the spring term instead of the fall term, Carlton said.

Carlton, who said she was notified of the error yesterday, did not know exactly how many undergraduates were affected, since students may opt in to grade mailing in SIS.

“Not all say yes, of course,” Carlton said. “but I think a couple of thousand do [have grades sent home.]”

Several parents have taken it upon themselves to notify the office even though their students’ grades are already available in SIS, Carlton and Faculty of Arts and Sciences office assistant Shirley Beery said.

“Lots of parents have been calling in and complaining about it,” Beery said this morning, adding that the affected grade reports are being “regenerated.”
