Wednesday’s Buzz: 1.27.10

THE NEWS

  • Eighteen-year-old Li Boynton is a Texas high school senior who was just accepted to Yale College — and tomorrow night, she will sit next to First Lady Michelle Obama at the State of the Union address.

  • Alongside stacks of the New Haven Register and the News, students entering the dining halls each morning find copies of the day’s New York Times. But the Yale College Council is looking for ways to save money by cutting back on publication subscriptions, and the Times might prove a casualty of those efforts.
  • What happens when unconventional seminars end up with only one or two enrolled students? “They’re sort of like dinners — it all depends on your company,” visiting professor Kornel Chang says.
  • THE WEATHER

High of 43 degrees, low of 26 degrees, mostly sunny, mostly cloudy in the evening.

    THE FOOD

Dining hall menus unavailable due to an error on the Yale Dining menu selector.
