A team is traveling to Haiti today from the School of Medicine and Yale-New Haven Hospital to join the relief efforts following the Jan. 12 earthquake. The team members will bring $12,000 worth of medical supplies donated by the hospital for use during their two-week stay.

After a Bullblog poll asked members of a cappella groups to fill out a survey about their opinions of other groups, the Singing Group Council co-chairs sent an e-mail encouraging students to ignore the poll, which they feared would “be a vessel for people to vent their frustrations at rush or jam dates or whatever other pointless tiffs that rush causes between group members.”

The fiancée of Raymond Clark III, the Yale lab technician accused of murdering Annie Le GRD ’13 murder, visits him in jail almost every week, Newsday is reporting. Clark has a court date today.

Sam Lee ’12 released an album, “Real Life Color,” on Monday with his band Magic Man, featuring songs written at a chateau, a farm, a circus festival and a beach cottage across France. The CD can be downloaded and streamed for free on the band’s Web site, magicman.bandcamp.com.

Monday’s showers were a damper for many, but not for students in Bernard Bate’s “Twentieth-Century Anthropological Theory” course, which was postponed because of the weather. “It is simply too nasty out there to trudge up the hill to class today,” Bate said in an e-mail to students.

Princeton University is raising tuition by 3.3 percent for the 2010-’11 school year, the Daily Princetonian reported Monday. Princeton also announced a 9.6 percent increase in the financial aid budget and caps on faculty raises at 1.5 percent to cope with the current economic climate. Yale has yet to announce its term bill for the upcoming academic year.

Fight for your right. A federal judge ruled last Friday that college students in Narragansett, R.I., do not, in fact, have a right to party; the town may continue to mark houses with rowdy residents. The Constitution, the court said, “does not protect college house parties, no matter how many problems of the world may be solved at them.”
