Bloom ‘stable and improving,’ but still hospitalized

Sterling Professor of Humanities and legendary literary critic Harold Bloom is stable after several weeks in the hospital, according to an e-mail Associate Dean Penelope Laurans sent his students Tuesday afternoon.

“As you all have heard, Professor Bloom is still in the hospital – but he is stable and improving,” Laurans wrote to the members of Bloom’s “The Art of Reading a Poem” seminar.

A hospital receptionist said Sunday that Bloom was in a regular room.
