Election staffers at the New Haven Hall of Records at 200 Orange St. are currently amid preparations to start counting up the votes from all 30 wards across the city of New Haven for the mayoral, aldermanic and city clerk elections.

A group of citizen volunteers were sworn in and have started to count and check absentee ballots from each ward.

Both the Republican and Democrat registrars of voters are currently in a separate room receiving and checking tally sheets on a rolling basis, as moderators from all 30 wards arrive and file their voting results.

Preliminary results should be available at approximately 10 p.m., head moderator Ralph Marcarelli GRD ’77 said.
