Bomb-astic living room decor

A bomb squad was called to the home of a Cambridge, Mass. resident Monday after she began to worry about the cannonball sitting in their living room, the Harvard Crimson reported yesterday.

Apparently, Walter L. Condit and his wife (who asked not to be named) had kept an old cannonball on the TV stand in their living room for the past 20 years as a curious piece of decor. But recently, Condit’s wife became concerned about whether the cannonball was safe, and called the non-emergency hotline for the City of Cambridge Police Department. Soon after, over 20 officials from police, fire and bomb squad units arrived at the house to remove the offending souvenir.

Can we not report this? Thanks.

Yale already mentions Harvard enough. We don’t need the YDN covering Cambridge stories, even if they are mildly amusing.
