Car kills homeless man on Church Street

A vehicle struck and killed a homeless man at the intersection of Church and Center streets Friday night. According to police, the 38-year-old man sustained life-threatening head injuries from the accident at 8:29 p.m. and was pronounced dead at 1:45 a.m.

Police did not comment further on the details of the event, saying only that the Accident Reconstruction Team is still processing evidence from the scene.

    This is terrible – I don’t know the details of this case, but how many pedestrians have to die in New Haven intersections before some kind of reforms are put in place?
