The University distributed a letter to members of the class of 1999, asking for their help with the ongoing investigation of Suzanne Jovin’s slaying. (Read the story here.) Jovin, a political science and international studies double major, was found stabbed 17 times on the evening of Dec. 4, 1998.

June 2, 2009

To the Members of the Class of 1999,

First and foremost, I offer a heartfelt welcome back to Yale! I trust you will have a wonderful weekend, reuniting with dear friends.

Although he is most reluctant to mar this weekend of celebration, Assistant State’s Attorney James Clark has asked the University to seek your assistance in the continuing investigation of the murder of your classmate, Suzanne Jovin.  It is heart-wrenching that this horrible crime has not been solved.  Mr. Clark and his investigation team ask you to consider whether you might have any information that might shed additional light on this case, and they ask those who have been interviewed before to consider speaking with them again.  If you do believe that you can help, you may call 203-676-1575, to contact a member of Mr. Clark’s investigation team.  Thank you very much.
