Big 3

December 1, 2007 • 0
Flato just hit a huge three to put the Bulldogs within two and get the crowd to the loudest it has been all afternoon. But Wagner quickly quieted the crowd with a three of its own by Joey Mundweiler, who has hit three from behind the arc today, and pushed the lead back up to »

Yale Going to Zone

December 1, 2007 • 0
Looks like Coach Jones has decided to switch up his team’s defense, now going to a 2-3 probably to offset the Seahawks’ quickness advantage. Wagner will have to shoot over it or attack its gaps to be successful, both of which it is capable of doing.

The Seahawks have continued with their run, now at 19-8 to begin the half to take a 53-46 lead. Coach Jones was forced to call a timeout with 11:44 remaining to try to slow down Wagner’s momentum and not let the game get out of hand. But basketball is a game of runs and there’s »

Nelson Hand Injury

After drawing a foul on an attempted dunk, Paul Nelson shot one free throw but wasn’t allowed to shoot the second. The referees forced him to leave the game due to some kind of hand injury. It didn’t look like he wanted to leave the game though . Unless there was blood, I don’t see »

With 6.2 seconds left Yale’s Ari Greenberg ’09  fouled Mark Porter behind the arc on a questionable call. Porter made all three free throws to put Wagner within one — 35-34. The Bulldogs then pushed the ball up the court where Flato found Zampier for a three pointer at the buzzer to put Yale up »

Wagner’s Vinson Has Nose for the Ball

December 1, 2007 • 0
I heard about Durell Vinson’s rebounding prowess but seeing it in person is impressive. Despite being only 6-7, the junior forward is always of the action down low. On two consecutive possessions,Vinson has tipped in two missed layups by teammates and scored eight consecutive points for the Seahawks to start a 12-2 run that has »

Yale Needs to Run Offense

It seems like every time the Bulldogs slow down and run their offense, they score. When they force quick shots or try going one on one, the possession often ends with a missed jumper from the perimeter.

Kyle Being Fed

December 1, 2007 • 0
Kyle has checked back into the game and his teammates are looking for him down low. He’s establishing good position on the block and being effective with the ball in the post. Wagner may be the more athletic and quicker team, but Yale should be able to utilize its size down low.
