On the 14th hole of his first round on Saturday, Sam Bernstein ’14 shot a triple bogey, and by the par-five 16th hole he sat four-over par for the round.
The men’s golf team will host the Yale Spring Opener on Saturday.

GYMNASTICS | Sooksengdao ’16 takes beam title

While most Yale students spent spring break relaxing with friends and family, the gymnastics team remained hard at work preparing for its biggest competition of the year, hoping to win its first season meet and upset the field at Saturday’s ECAC championships.
In the first outdoor meet of the year, the men’s track and field team notched several top-five performances.

Forward Matt Townsend ’15 scored a career-high 19 points a night after the Elis fell in disappointing fashion to Columbia.

At the 2011 Indoor Heptagonal Track and Field Championships two years ago, the Elis did not score a single point in either the men’s or women’s pole vault.
The women’s team scored 19 points to finish in seventh, and the men’s team finished in last place with 15.5 points.

This season has proved to be a trying one for members of the Yale men’s and women’s track and field teams, which have battled illness and injury throughout the year.
Guard Javier Duren ’15 totaled 15 points against Harvard on Saturday, but the Elis could not overcome a six-point halftime deficit and fell, 72–66.
