IN FOCUS: Af-Am House

In this last of four installments looking into each of Yale’s cultural houses, photography editor Kathryn Crandall explores the Afro-American Cultural Center, also known as the Af-Am House or just “The House.” Located at 211 Park St., the center is home to a myriad of resident groups whose influence can be felt across campus and even beyond Yale’s borders. The House serves as a physical space to help foster a sense of community within the black population at Yale, hosting events throughout the year including mayoral debates, guest lectures and parties that are open to all who wish to attend.
