A hoax email sent to some members of the Yale community Wednesday imitated the bi-weekly “Notes from Woodbridge Hall” sent out by University President Peter Salovey.

The email said that Chance the Rapper, the Spring Fling performer who cancelled his performance Tuesday, would in fact be performing on Saturday. The reason for the confusion, the hoax email said, was that Salovey misinterpreted Chance the Rapper’s vernacular, in which he called the upcoming performance “ill” and “dirty.”

“I sincerely regret this gaffe, and will begin to acquaint myself with the rap music in order to avoid any further confusion,” the email read.

This is the second false mass email sent around campus this week, following a prank email announcing the University’s decision to divest.
