Right behind Davenport College, a little taste of Belgium is coming to New Haven.

Belgian bakery Maison Mathis is set to open at 310 Elm Street, next to Ivy Noodle. Though the exact date of opening has not been determined, construction has started. In addition, the restaurant recently posted a photo of the planned interior to its Facebook page.

Those at Maison Mathis headquarters declined to comment until an official opening date has been set.

Based in Belgium, Maison Mathis is also located in Atlanta, Ga. and will soon expand to Dubai. The menu contains bread, salads, soups, sandwiches, coffee and, of course, Belgium waffles.
