The United States Geological Survey reported a 4.6-magnitude earthquake at 7:12 p.m. Tuesday night near Hollis, Maine, an earth-shattering geological event that has the entire Twitterverse shaking.

According to the USGS ShakeMap, moderate shaking could be felt in Portland, Maine, and weak shaking was felt throughout the New England region, including in Boston, Hanover and New Haven — though the Arts & Architecture Library must be shake-proof because I didn’t feel a thing.

Twitter responses have varied. Some have taken to the Internet to ask about “some earthquake” in the New England region, while others have cracked jokes about the cause of the shake, including one Twitter user who attributed the earthquake to abnormally large acorns falling from the sky.

As a wise Twitter user once Tweeted, “I Didn’t Feel The earthquake ..I Was doin Me.”

You do you, Yale.
