The sounds of Lady Gaga graced Yale and DeWitt Family Fields over the weekend as the Yale Precision Marching Band — for the first time in recent years — brought their harmonies to baseball and softball games against Harvard.

“A lot of teams don’t realize we totally love coming to games,” YPMB Manager Kebra Sedam ’13 said. “If people are willing to ask us, if they want us there, we are totally willing to come.”

Just over a week ago, an alumnus asked Director of Bands Thomas Duffy if the YPMB would perform at the Bulldogs’ baseball match against the Crimson. The YPMB then contacted softball captain Christy Nelson ’13, who accepted the YPMB’s offer to play at the softball game.

Aside from the typical football, basketball and hockey games, the YPMB has also performed at a variety of athletic events—including swimming and diving, soccer, water polo and an annual SOM ice hockey game. Who knows where they’ll show up next?
