One of two victims in the fatal U-Haul crash of last November’s Harvard-Yale tailgate is suing Brendan Ross ’13, the truck’s driver, and the U-Haul Company of Connecticut.
Sarah Short SOM ’13 filed a memorandum with the New Haven Superior Court claiming that she has suffered “severe and painful injuries” resulting from the accident. The suit seeks at least $15,000 in damages from either Ross or the U-Haul Company of Connecticut.
Though Ross passed a field sobriety test at the scene of the accident, Short’s lawsuit points to five potential causes for her injuries, including the excessive speed at which Ross was driving, his failure to honk his horn and the unsafe condition of the rented U-Haul.
