Looks like we missed our chance.

Jake Conway ’11, the founder of the campus LGBTQ interest magazine Q, was named to the OUT100 this week, joining big names like writer Dan Savage, celebrity progeny Chaz Bono, superstar Adam Lambert and Bravo exec Andy Cohen on a list of the 100 most influential or inspirational members of the LGBTQ community.

Conway is the second Yalie in two years to make the list — Katie Miller ’12, who transferred to Yale from West Point in reaction to the government’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy, made the list in 2010.

The magazine, which will hit newsstands Nov. 22, described Conway as a “big man on campus.”

“In the spring issue, we featured a drag queen who works in our library as a security guard, and it was a bomb on campus,” Conway told OUT.

Conway’s photograph, a screenshot of which is feature above, also features stylist George Kotsiopoulos and drag queen Shangela. It was inspired by photographer Elliott Erwitt’s “Bratsk, Siberia 1967.”
