In preparation for Hurricane Irene, Yale Dining is providing students with “to go bags” Saturday night, so students can store food to have on Sunday.

Director of Residential Dining Regenia Philips said the decision was part of Dining’s emergency response to the hurricane. Originally, multiple dining halls across campus were supposed to be serving food on Sunday. The freshman class, as well as athletes and students involved in certain other programs have already been receiving dining hall service. However, since it might be unsafe for students to leave their dorms to go to the dining halls, the decision was made to close the dining halls for service Sunday, and instead provide packages of food for all students on campus.
