George Levesque announced the six recipients of Yale College’s 2011 teaching awards to the News Tuesday. Dana Angluin, computer science professor and winner of the award for teaching in the natural sciences, said the students, not the teachers, control the quality the learning process. “The teacher just tries to create an environment where learning can happen,” she said. “There’s no magic thing to say.” Still, the winners have their own individual ways of forming that learning environment.
