  • Even after 36 years at Yale, University Photographer Michael Marsland is still finding new gargoyles. A Yale photographer since 1975, Marsland has served as University Photographer since 1987. Many of the archetypal pictures of the campus on the University’s website and in its publications are his, and on any given day new photos appear in the Yale Daily Bulletin, the Yale Alumni Magazine and other publications.
  • Yale may see its first religious Greek organization if a Christian sorority successfully opens a new chapter on campus. Delta Psi Epsilon Christian Sorority, Inc. is taking steps to expand to Yale after Nicole Negbenebor ’12 contacted the organization over a month ago to express interest, said founder and national director Vila-Sheree Watson. These efforts could impact the Yale Panhellenic Council’s plans to incorporate a fourth sorority, said Panhel President Stephanie Cuevas ’12, despite the fact that Panhel would not oversee Delta Psi Epsilon.
  • Eighty percent of staff completed the 2010 workplace survey released Monday — the highest rate since the first survey in 2005 — and their answers indicated an overall improvement in morale throughout the University. But while two-thirds of employees feel positively about their jobs, overall commitment to careers at Yale has fallen slightly, and those polled said they have lost some faith in the decisions of senior administrators and the direction the University is taking.
