Saybrook College juniors will be annexed to Swing Space next year despite previous reports that they will head to Vanderbilt Hall. Associate Dean for Student Organizations and Physical Resources John Meeske told the News Monday that he miscalculated the number of Saybrook freshman that would need to be housed in Vanderbilt and that, as a result, juniors would not be able to fit there.

It’s better than mom jeans. Jessica Simpson was spotted in Los Angeles wearing a grey Yale sweatshirt last week, according to Starpulse.com. Her fiancé, Eric Johnson ’01, was a wide receiver for the Bulldogs.

The School of Art had some fun with Simpson. The image of her in the sweatshirt was the background of the “Current Students” section of its website, a wiki that can be edited by students, faculty staff and alumni.

Cooking with your college. Stiles STEP is soliciting recipes for a “Sustainable Stiles cookbook.” The cookbook will be “electronic,” and will include “simple, healthy recipes that are practical for college student [sic] and environmentally friendly,” according to an e-mail sent Monday.

A model student. After hosting the 83rd Annual Academy Awards Sunday night, James Franco GRD ’16 was spotted in New Haven Monday morning.

Yale College Council jokes. In an e-mail asking students to fill out a survey about academic feedback the YCC wrote: “If you have any questions about this survey or YCC’s efforts with regards to academic policy, please contact YCC Treasurer and Yale Herald Crush of the Week Brandon Levin [’13].”

Knockin’ on your door. Allison Bauer ’12, vice president of the Saybrook College Council, e-mailed Saybrugians to tell them that she and other SCC members would be visiting rooms Friday morning to retrieve items taken from the dining hall.

Switcheroo. Gourmet Heaven’s cheese section has switched places with its produce section.

Ready to get pretty. Salon J — located in the storefront between Davenport College and J.Press — is set to open today. The salon already has appointments lined up.
