Last week’s third-place ranking had been Yale’s highest ever, with 863 total points and five first-place votes. This week, however, the Blue (5–1–0, 2–0–0) earned 786 points in the most recent poll and received no first-place votes. Minnesota-Duluth moved up to the No. 1 spot, after sitting in second behind now No. 2 Boston University last week. Maine and Nebraska-Omaha are the No. 3 and No. 4 teams, respectively. Both Maine and Nebraska-Omaha are newcomers to the top tier of the national rankings, as each finished just above .500 last season.

Yale’s fall in the national standings comes after the squad split a pair of games out West this weekend. The Elis beat Colorado College Saturday, but Air Force Academy abruptly ended the Bulldogs’ five-game win streak Sunday night. The Falcons rallied with four unanswered goals in the third period to record a 4–3 upset.
