For some good literary procrastination listen to Paris Review editor and Yalie Lorin Stein ’95 chat about books and writers.

In this podcast posted on the University of Pittsburgh literary magazine Hot Metal Bridge’s website today Stein says: “For me a book has erotic appeal and a mobile device won’t.”

This past April Stein reminisced about at Yale in the New York Observer:

There was a sense that the institution made room for freaks. It was a place where there were bars and cafes where you’d bump into people you really looked up to and wanted to learn from. There was a lot of self-directed reading going on. My friends were the kinds of people who often cut classes but took reading very seriously.

You’ll probably feel much like that last sentence if you take the time to listen to this podcast instead of doing your work.
