Just in time for spring break, Amtrak has added Wi-Fi to some of its trains. Amtrak Connect, a complimentary wireless Internet service, is now available in the business and first class seating sections of all 20 high-speed Acela Express trains that travel between Boston and Washington, D.C., according to a statement released by Amtrak Tuesday.

The company is also adding Amtrak Connect Wi-Fi to the Amtrak gate areas of Washington Union Station, Baltimore Penn Station, Philadelphia 30 Street Station, New York Penn Station, Providence Station and Route 128 Station in Boston.

For now, the new service is free to customers, though that may not last: according to Amtrak spokesperson Tracy Connell, “AmtrakConnect service on Acela Express trains will remain free of charge during the introductory period, after which the policy will be reviewed based on customer demand and system performance.”
