After reports went national of a confrontation following his team’s 12th consecutive national championship win, Trinity squash player Baset Chaudhry has decided to withdraw from the College Squash Association individual championship to be held March 5-7 at Trinity, according to the Hartford Courant.

Chaudhry, the No. 1 player in nation and the two-time defending individual national champion, was caught on camera in the face of Yale’s Kenneth Chan, screaming at him after clinching the national championship for the Bantams last week at the Brady Squash Center. Less than a minute later, Chaudhry pushed Chan on to the court as the Yale player was exiting the playing area. Chaudhry garnered national scrutiny for the incident, most with a sense of humor, from media outlets ranging from ESPN to Perez Hilton.

Chaudhry sent apologies to Yale and members of the CSA earlier in the week.
