For the second time in as many weeks, the newly installed speakers on top of Yale’s blue phones started broadcasting a test alert message in some parts of campus this afternoon.

The University’s director of emergency management services, Maria Bouffard, said the tests are part of the process to finalize the speakers’ installation and will continue go on intermittently for the next couple of weeks, with “a couple of locations” being tested at any given time.

Bouffard asked that students be patient with the testing. “We are trying to get it to be less annoying,” she said.
