Connecticut Gov. M. Jodi Rell officially accepted the state stabilization funding included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in a letter Friday to the Executive Office of President Barack Obama. Her letter attested to the state’s commitment to use the funding included in the bill in a manner that will best serve the people of the State of Connecticut. Rell was a strong supporter of the stimulus package, one of only three Republican governors — California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Florida Gov. Charlie Crist were the others — to sign a letter calling for its passage early last month.
