After presenting the state budget to legislature last week, Gov. M. Jodi Rell announced in a press release Monday that she is still unsure how much funding Connecticut will receive in a federal stimulus package. In light of this, she urged the University of Connecticut’s Board of Trustees to suspend discussion on raising tuition fees. Some students work multiple jobs and she feels now would be the worst time to up university fees, she argued. To evade this matter UConn President Michael Hogan has established several committees to evaluate and identify cuts in the university’s budget.
