Briefly: Lieberman a Democrat? Obama thinks he should be

Sen. Joseph Lieberman’s ’64 LAW ’67 standing in the Democratic caucus is uncertain following his support of Sen. John McCain’s presidential candidacy. Lieberman’s position as chairman of the Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee is in flux, as well. But according to the Washington Post, he has at least one supporter in the new Democratic administration: President-elect Barack Obama. In a phone conversation last week, Obama told Sen. Harry Reid, the Senate majority leader, that he wants Lieberman to remain in the caucus.

    ATIN-HUT, Pull his chair.
