Four people were arrested for selling drugs on the New Haven Green, the New Haven Independent reported Tuesday. The New Haven Police Department narcotics task force staked out the area near the corner of Church and Chapel streets after receiving a tip in October. During the early-morning stakeouts that have taken place over the past several days, the police observed several drug transactions. At the bust, “40 glassine packets of marijuana, 29 glassine packets of heroin and $382” were seized, the Independent reported. A 45-year-old man was charged with drug possession. Two other men and a woman were charged with selling and possessing drugs.
