Around New Haven: Pfizer pays out $60M to states in lawsuit

Connecticut will receive $1.7 million from Pfizer Inc. in a settlement, following a five-year-long investigation into the pharmaceutical company’s marketing of drugs Celebrex and Bextra. The suit claimed Pfizer misleadingly marketed aspects of the safety and efficacy of the drugs. The settlement — announced Wednesday — totals $60 million, with monies split among 31 states and the District of Columbia.
