The members of the women’s ice hockey team may be wearing pink this weekend, but in terms of game play, they’ll be fighting for the Yale blue and white just as much as ever.

The Bulldogs (9-9-5, 6-7-3 ECAC) will face off against conference rival Princeton (11-8-4, 9-6-1) tomorrow night at the Whale before taking to the home ice again Saturday to battle Quinnipiac (4-20-4, 1-12-3). The Elis will don pink jerseys for the inaugural Pink at the Rink weekend for cancer research.

Slotted at seventh place in the ECAC with 15 points and with only six games left to play, the Bulldogs need to win every point they can get their sticks on. Princeton, four points ahead and in fifth place, is coming off a spectacular 7-0 shutout against Union (3-21-2, 0-14-2), but the Tigers may find the Elis a slightly tougher opponent.

Meanwhile, 11th-place Quinnipiac is coming off a 4-0 loss to Renssalaer (12-11-4, 5-8-3). The last meeting between the Bulldogs and the Bobcats resulted in a 5-2 victory for Yale, so if history is any indication, Saturday’s game might be a crucial chance to pick up the points needed to move up in the conference standings.
