Nelson Hand Injury

December 1, 2007 • 3
After drawing a foul on an attempted dunk, Paul Nelson shot one free throw but wasn’t allowed to shoot the second. The referees forced him to leave the game due to some kind of hand injury. It didn’t look like he wanted to leave the game though . Unless there was blood, I don’t see »

Both Teams Shooting Well

December 1, 2007 • 0
After a sloppy start, both teams went into halftime shooting 50% from the field — Yale is 15-30, Wagner 14-28. Yale has looked to the three with more frequency, taking 14 shots behind the arc — Wagner has taken just 7 — and making 5.

With 6.2 seconds left Yale’s Ari Greenberg ’09  fouled Mark Porter behind the arc on a questionable call. Porter made all three free throws to put Wagner within one — 35-34. The Bulldogs then pushed the ball up the court where Flato found Zampier for a three pointer at the buzzer to put Yale up »

Wagner’s Vinson Has Nose for the Ball

December 1, 2007 • 0
I heard about Durell Vinson’s rebounding prowess but seeing it in person is impressive. Despite being only 6-7, the junior forward is always of the action down low. Yale Needs to Run Offense

Kyle Being Fed

Kyle has checked back into the game and his teammates are looking for him down low. He’s establishing good position on the block and being effective with the ball in the post. Wagner may be the more athletic and quicker team, but Yale should be able to utilize its size down low.

The Seahawks are trying to take advantage of their quickness by speeding the game up. They are going to the rim aggressively trying to draw contact. James Ulrich managed to put a layup in along with a foul, but he missed the free-throw to tie the game at 12.

7-0 Run

December 1, 2007 • 0
Yale has warmed up pretty quickly, going on a 7-0 run in a matter of one minute, forcing Wagner to call two timeouts. Wagner seems out of sync on offense, throwing up difficult shots and turning the ball over.

Ugly Start

December 1, 2007 • 0
Yale has come out ice cold from the field. The Bulldogs have two points four minutes into the contest. Kyle checked into the game at the 16:48 mark and he looks a little rusty to start, committing a turnover and missing hook shot from in close.

The Tip

December 1, 2007 • 0
Well Kyle isn’t in the starting lineup Paul Nelson ’10 will be out there to begin the game along with Ross Morin ’09, Caleb and Nick Holmes ’08, and Captain Eric Flato ’08. Not having Kyle out there for his usual amount of playing time will force Morin, Nelson, and the other Bulldog big men »
