Helen Resor ’09 and Team USA had the day off yesterday and today but return to action tomorrow in a semifinal against Sweden. The Canadians play Finland in the other semifinal, also tomorrow. The German team and Denise Soesilo ’10 will play additional games to determine their final placement in the eight-team field, but the Germans have been eliminated from medal contention and cannot finish higher than fifth.

If the semifinals go as expected, with the U.S. beating Sweden and Canada defeating Finland, the two titans of women’s hockey will face off in the gold-medal match at 2:30 p.m. Eastern time on Monday.

Both Canada and the U.S. are undefeated thus far in Olympic competition.
