Offensive lineman Rory Hennessey ’05 and receiver Ralph Plumb ’05 signed free agent contracts following last weekend’s NFL Draft.

Hennessey, a two-time first-team All-Ivy selection and American Football Coaches Association All-American, signed with the Detroit Lions while Plumb, who holds the Yale record for most receiving yards, signed with the Oakland Raiders. Both will participate in their respective team’s upcoming mini-camps as they try to join ex-Elis Raiders’ fullback Chris Hetherington ’95, Tampa Bay tight end Nate Lawrie ’04 and San Francisco tight end Eric Johnson ’01 in the NFL.

Harvard quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick was the only Ivy League player selected in the draft, picked up in the seventh round by St. Louis.
