The Feb. 18 article “Early admissions still ignite debate” incorrectly stated that MIT switched to single-choice early action after Yale adopted the policy. MIT kept its unrestricted early action admissions policy.

In yesterday’s story “Yale forgoes battle for Harvard profs,” an off-the-record quote by Harvard physics professor Daniel Fisher was included without permission and was not placed in proper context. Fisher’s view is more correctly expressed as follows: “Harvard is becoming a dictatorship: secrecy, cronyism, grandiosity and double-speak are taking the place of open debate, merit, rational planning and effective management.” The News regrets the error.
