University Police arrested two juveniles early Saturday morning for attempting to steal the pocketbook of a female pedestrian on College Street, University Police Lt. Michael Patten said.

Patten said Officer Christopher Perez arrested the juveniles after stopping their vehicle near the intersection of Temple and Wall streets. Perez had to chase one of the juveniles up Whitney Avenue before being able to make the arrest.

“Both were charged with robbery in the third degree, larceny in the second degree and conspiracy to commit robbery,” Patten said. “[One] was also charged with interfering with a police officer.”

Patten said one of the juveniles snatched the woman’s pocketbook while the other told her he had no part in the theft as he walked behind her.
