The report from the National Transportation Safety Board concerning the Jan. 17 car accident that killed four Yale students cited in Thursday’s story “Many factors led to fatal car crash” reveals information about road conditions, weather and the behavior of the truck driver involved in the accident. The information about the amount of sleep by the car’s driver, Sean Fenton ’04, is based on interviews with Fenton’s friends but leaves some time in Fenton’s schedule unaccounted for. The report presents preliminary findings but does not make any conclusions about what factors contributed to the accident. A final report will be delivered next year. We apologize for any distress the article’s conclusions may have caused.
