The University of Pennsylvania will just have to wait to host “JEOPARDY!”

With the strike’s conclusion Sept. 18, “JEOPARDY!” has recommitted to filming its “JEOPARDY! College Championship” at Yale as originally planned. Last week, “JEOPARDY!” representatives said the show would move its taping to Penn in order to respect Yale’s striking workers. The tryouts and the taping of the tournament will be held at Yale on the originally scheduled dates.

Try outs will be held Sept. 23 on Beinecke Plaza. The first 1,000 Yale undergraduates will be guaranteed a chance to try out.

Taping will be take place Oct. 3 and Oct. 4 in the Lanman Center. Tickets will be provided for free to Yale students.

Yale College Council President Elliott Mogul ’05 said the YCC began distributing tickets this weekend. Mogul said students can sign up through a system on the Yale Station Web site, while the tickets will be delivered at a later date.

On Tuesday, the “JEOPARDY!” Clue Crew will be at Beinecke Plaza from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the Yale Station Web site, students will first be asked to take a short 10-question pretest. Students who pass the test will then be invited back to take a 40-question secondary screening and an actual on-the-set tryout game. As part of the contract, at least one Yale undergraduate is guaranteed to be on the show.

A video featuring a welcome from “JEOPARDY!” host Alex Trebek to Yale students is now available for viewing on Yale Station.
