In Friday’s article “Profs square off over Iraq war,” several of debate participant John Gaddis’ points were misrepresented. He said Saudi Arabia, not Serbia, is an example of an authoritarian American ally. He said Israel is authoritarian only in its treatment of the occupied territories. And he said the Bush administration seeks to resolve the Palestinian issue through the creation of a democratic Palestinian state.
