“Developers aim for ‘10th square’ to fit right in” implied that Alex Garvin ’62 ARC ’67 thought the former site of the New Haven Veterans Coliseum should be left empty. In fact, he simply raised questions about whether the market demanded “another open space.” The article also stated that the “10th Square” area was part of original city planners’ design for the city. In reality, the term was a nickname coined in the middle of the 18th century for the area that is now being redeveloped; the original plan for New Haven included only nine squares. The article also should have made it clear that Robert Stern ARC ’65 and Alan Plattus ’76 spoke to the News in person, not via e-mail.
