The former PM’s visit is not just about fanfare or academic indulgence; it’s the end goal — the “corpus” — that matters most

Why is Tony Blair at Yale anyway? Friday’s Woolsey appearance aside, he’s not here to bewilder hundreds of Yale students in massive lectures. (We’ll leave that to certain Cold War and Con Law professors.) Friday’s buzzing media presence aside, he’s not here (believe it or not) on an elaborate PR campaign for the Tony Blair Faith Foundation. (OK, well that’s part of it.)

How complicated is this really that it requires a Yale professorship to comprehend it? Three families claim they own the same house and that a monothesistic God intended for them to have it. No one is willing to share. All are willing to martyr themselves. That's history.

He came to Yale so he could have his behind kissed and his ego massaged.

Tony Blair has ALREADY changed the world -- for the worse. Now he ought to just go away so the rest of us can try to put it back together again.

Hmm ... I'd say the reasons he is "appearing" at Yale importantly include: (1) Yale's willingness to take his kid and award him a scholarship, and

(2) a sizeable honorarium.

Take advantage of all that Yale has to offer. Interact with Tony Blair---pick his brain, find out what motivates him--- take advantage of the tremendous opportunity to interact with and learn from him. Trust me, you will remember it years later.
