’Sphere has fun with an old adage

“When Life Gives You Lemons, You Paint That Shit Gold” does not sound like any other hip-hop record. But then again, Atmosphere — the duo composed of rapper Slug and producer Ant — does not sound like any other hip-hop act. Still, “When Life Gives You Lemons” is atypical even of their work.

Good review--I've never sampled their wares but shall be checking out "The Skinny" especially. Kudos, Avinash, for giving credit to an outfit that produces songs that critique the objectification of women. Much more useful than, on one hand, condemning youth/rap culture these days, or, on the other, resigning ones' ears to a dreary audio-diet of pimps-and-hos-laden drivel.
